PARK CITY — The Utah Highway Patrol said a man died and his passenger was seriously injured after the car they were in failed to negotiate a curve on a state highway, slammed through a wooden fence and ended up in a stream near a golf course.
Authorities identified the fatal victim as Kurt R. Peterson, 46, of Salt Lake City. His passenger is a man, 24, of Salt Lake City, whose identity was not released.
Both victims in the 12:27 p.m. Sunday accident were taken to University Hospital in serious condition, but Peterson later succumbed to his injuries.
The accident happened on state Route 224 near 1900 West.
