BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU guard Antonio Blakeney is returning for his sophomore season.

Blakeney, in a news release Tuesday, said he will not submit his name for information on the upcoming NBA Draft. The deadline to submit official paperwork is Monday.

Blakeney, of Sarasota, Florida, said he will continue at LSU and the remainder of the program's spring strength and conditioning drills. He says though he finished the year strong and posted a solid season, he thinks it's in his best interest to continue to improve on the court and move forward on his college degree.

Blakeney averaged 12.6 points per game and 3.4 rebounds while starting 24 of the Tigers' 33 games.

Coach Johnny Jones says Blakeney's return gives LSU another prolific scorer and the experience needed to move forward next season.
