(KSL News) A water main break on 500 East at about 4200 South made quite a mess this evening.
Utility workers don't know yet what caused the break, beyond possibly just an old pipe. They had a tough time shutting off the water.
Another water main break created a sinkhole on a busy street in Salt Lake City. The water line broke beneath 1300 East at Kensington Avenue around 3:00 this afternoon.
The sinkhole was about 7 feet long and 2 feet wide and snarled traffic on the busy street until crews could fix the water line and patch up the hole.
