PROVO — A young girl was killed and three other people were hospitalized after two vehicles collided in Provo.
The crash happened at the intersection of 1500 West and Center Street around 7:30 p.m., Provo Police officer Paul Shade said.
Police say it appears one driver was distracted by his GPS device and failed to notice the traffic light was red. That vehicle struck an SUV going through the intersection.
There were six people in the SUV, including the female teenager who died in the crash. Three others in the SUV were also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, Shade said. Police were unaware of any injuries for the driver who allegedly ran the red light.
Police did not release the names or ages of anyone involved in the crash.
