SALT LAKE CITY — St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson is appealing an order keeping him in jail pending being sentenced on his felony conviction in federal court.
Johnson's lawyer filed a notice of appeal Friday to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver.
U.S. District Judge David Nuffer confined Johnson to the Weber County Jail until his sentencing hearing June 20. A jury last month found Johnson guilty of eight counts of making false statements to a bank in connection with his former internet marketing company.
Johnson faces up to 30 years in federal prison.
