SALT LAKE CITY — A man involved with 62 break-ins, vandalism and theft incidents in four states recently pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony, the Utah Attorney General's Office announced Wednesday.
Jimmy Jack Olson, 32, was ordered to pay just over $41,000 in restitution at the end of March after pleading guilty to a pattern of unlawful activity. However, 14 other counts — 12 for felony theft and two for criminal mischief — were dismissed with prejudice, according to court documents.

Olson was arrested by the Unified Police Department in September. Olson’s final plea document states that he received proceeds directly or indirectly from the vending machine thefts to travel throughout Utah to continue the enterprise.
During the investigation, police said they believed Olson largely targeted coin-operated arcade machines and rides for children in front of stores. The machines were pried open with a crowbar and screwdriver, often during normal store hours.
