NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Empire will face the five-time defending champion Washington Kastles for their World Team Tennis debut at the historic West Side Tennis Club.

WTT announced the schedule for the 41st season on Wednesday.

The Empire will open July 31 at the venerable stadium that once hosted the U.S. Open and Davis Cup matches in Forest Hills. It's been configured to seat 2,500 for six home dates through Aug. 13.

Andy Roddick will be the featured player for the Empire, which will be coached by Patrick McEnroe. Roddick, the 2003 U.S. Open champion, will play Aug. 9 against Washington.

Caroline Wozniacki, John Isner, Bob and Mike Bryan and Martina Hingis are among those competing in the six-team league for the King Trophy, named for co-founder Billie Jean King.

The final will be Aug. 26 in New York.
