SALT LAKE CITY — Welcome to today's From Left Field! Here are three fun stories form the world of sports.
1. Cam Newton is playing water polo
And it looks like Cam Newton is very good at playing water polo. I mean, at the very least, it looks like he's about to throw it at approximately 100 miles per hour.

Can you imagine if Newton retired from the NFL to play water polo, a la Michael Jordan and baseball?
2. Bryce Harper's using a new emoji bat
Harper's favorite emoji is the 💯, and understandably so. It's a really solid emoji. So he's put it at the end of his bats.

And he's using it in game, too!

We'll see if he can hit his 100th career home run with the bat. He's at 99 right now. 3\. Blue man group =================
For some reason, Mets TV had a broadcast glitch of some sort last night that turned Bartolo Colon's skin blue.

Colon is already the baseball player most similar to Violet Beauregarde after eating the blueberries in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, so turning him blue too didn't help.
