ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves have placed center fielder Ender Inciarte on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Mallex Smith, the team's top outfield prospect, is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett before Monday's game at Washington. Drew Stubbs started for Inciarte in center field against the Cardinals on Saturday and Sunday.

Inciarte left Friday night's game against St. Louis after feeling tightness in the hamstring while running to first base.

In other moves before Sunday's game against St. Louis, the Braves recalled right-hander Chris Withrow from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioned righty John Gant to Gwinnett.

The Braves also agreed to terms on a minor league deal with utility player Emilio Bonifacio, who was assigned to Gwinnett. Bonifacio was designated for assignment by the Braves on April 2.
