AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — The Masters is underway! The first major of the year in men's golf features a strong field of 89 and the opening round is being played in excellent weather. The ceremonial first tee shots took place earlier with Arnold Palmer watching as Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player teed off to get things going.

ATLANTA (AP) — As the end of the regular season is in sight, the Toronto Raptors can pick up some ground on Cleveland in their battle for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. With LeBron James watching from the bench in street clothes, the Cavs were beaten by the Pacers last night in Indianapolis, reducing their lead over the Raptors to three games.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Golden State needs to win all of its remaining games to break Chicago's all-time single-season won-loss record. That quest continues tonight with a very tough opponent as the Warriors are playing host to San Antonio. The same two teams meet again this Sunday in San Antonio.

WASHINGTON (AP) — One of the favorites to reach the World Series this year has its home opener this afternoon. Weather permitting in Washington, D.C., the Nationals are playing host to Miami. After a very disappointing season with Matt Williams as manager the Nats made a change and Dusty Baker debuts today in D.C. as the Washington skipper.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Hall of Fame basketball coach Jerry Sloan says he has Parkinson's disease and a form of dementia. The 74-year-old Sloan, who coached the Utah Jazz from 1988 to 2011, told The Salt Lake Tribune that he was diagnosed with the ailments last fall.
