OGDEN — A man was hospitalized and another man was arrested in connection with a shooting Sunday afternoon that police believe may be gang related.
The shooting occurred around 4:45 p.m. at 2921 Van Buren Ave. Officers responded to the area after receiving reports of several shots being fired, according to Ogden police. However, no one involved in the shooting was at the scene when police arrived and the Ogden Metro SWAT team couldn’t locate anyone in the home.
During the investigation, police discovered a 23-year-old male had been shot and arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was released from the hospital Sunday evening.
Investigators identified Noel Andrade, 32, as a possible suspect in the shooting. He was arrested in connection with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and drug-related charges, police said.
Ogden Metro Gang Task Force detectives will continue to investigate the incident.
