SNYDERVILLE, Summit — A wrong-way driver crashed into another vehicle and killed a person on I-80 near Kimball Junction just before 8 p.m., police said.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said.
An SUV was going east on I-80 when the driver crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with another SUV, Royce said. The driver of the SUV going west died at the scene. The driver of the other SUV was taken to Park City Medical Center with serious injuries, Royce said.
Westbound I-80 was closed for several hours after the crash.
Police did not release the name of either driver Monday night.
