MADNESS CITY — It’s finally here: March Madness has swept the nation once again.
Did you get anything done on the first day of the NCAA Tournament’s first round? If not, no one will blame you.
Here are a few of our favorite moments from Thursday’s games — and a few of them involve actual basketball, too.
Baylor’s Taurean Prince wins the presser
Taurean Prince doesn’t just have one of the best names in the NCAA Tournament. He also gave the best interview of the tourney’s opening round.
Prince’s Baylor squad lost to Yale in the opening round, 79-75. But when the Bears’ standout was asked about it and his team’s difficulty rebounding the ball by an incredulous reporter in the postgame press conference, he gave an epic response that sent shockwaves across the Internet, courtesy of ESPNU and Deadspin.
"How did Yale out-rebound Baylor?" https://t.co/5UapBDXaoopic.twitter.com/LhsghxHkWT

“You go up and grab the ball off the rim when it comes off,” he said, “and then you grab it with two hands, and you come down with it, and that’s considered a rebound. So they got more of those than we did.”
Yale, the winner of the game, advanced to face Duke in Saturday’s second round. Don’t worry — the Bulldogs, who won their first-ever NCAA tourney game, inspired a few of their own Internet memes, as well.

Arkansas-Little Rock is America’s team
Everyone loves March because everyone loves a good upset.
And a good locker room celebration? America will love you even more, Trojans.
Little Rock, the Sun Belt champions, held off Purdue, 85-83 — a considerable upset made more seismic by the Trojans’ reaction.

Little Rockin’ the house. Soak it up, Trojans.
Arizona’s Sean Miller needs a new shirt
Wichita State stunned the Wildcats with a 65-55 drubbing, ending sixth-seeded Arizona’s run in the postseason after less than 10 minutes of game time, really.
The 11th-seeded Shockers played ahead from the start and caused Miller to sweat through his white dress shirt barely midway through the first half.
Two Things:

1. Sean Miller makes over 3-million a year. Under shirts aren't that expensive.
2. It's 11-mins in. pic.twitter.com/pjch5Pz5tp
It might have been the only memorable thing about Arizona’s performance. Fred VanVleet had 16 points and six rebounds for the Shockers, and teammate Ron Baker added 13 points, five rebounds and six assists.
Things didn't get much better for the Pac 12, either.
Providence beats the Trojans
Southern California was just seconds away from its first NCAA Tournament win since 2007. Clinging to a 69-68 lead against Providence, all the Trojans had to do was defend one in-bounds pass and ride out the win.
The Friars had other ideas.
Providence’s Rodney Bullock scored a wide-open shot under the basket, giving the Friars a 70-69 win, their first since 1997.
Providence moves on to face North Carolina in Saturday’s second round. USC became the third of the Pac-12’s seven teams to lose Thursday; the conference went 1-3, with Utah getting the league’s only win.
