LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Rescue volunteers in northern Utah have added two search dogs and a new snowcat vehicle to their toolbox.

The Herald Journal reports that Cache County Search and Rescue volunteer Bryce Berry says the dogs are nationally certified in avalanche searching and trained to find people buried in an avalanche in as little as four minutes.

Berry works with Tippy, an 18-month-old border collie who will work with rescuers. The team also has an Australian shepherd, Misty, who is handled by volunteer Bart Esplin.
