(KSL News) Despite high divorce rates throughout the nation, more than two-thirds of American children lived with married parents in 2007.
The 2007 Current Population Report also shows that just over one in four of the nation's 73 million children lived with a single parent. The report found roughly 3 percent of American children living with two unmarried parents.
According to the Deseret News, this is the first time the Census Bureau has done a detailed survey of the relationship between children and their parents.
The report names Utah as the nation's youngest state with just more than 30 percent of the population under the age of 18. Utah also ranks first in the number of children.
And here's another unique statistic: More than 80 percent of Utah's families are headed by married couples.
