Gene Kennedy ReportingIt's been a week of power outages and early this morning, West Jordon took the big hit.
Summer Haners, Lost Power: "We lost about 4:30 this mornning."
A couple hours later, 850 customers were without power, which meant no air conditioning.
Kelly Gough, Lost Power: "I mean, my kids are in there with my sister-in-law. I think they're miserable. One of her neighbors came over and said it'll be done by 9:00. And then at 7:15 we heard another boom."
Another circuit was broken and the deadline changed to 9 a.m., then noon. By then, crews broke through to the underground line, finding a broken power cable. What happened to it? No one knows.
Crews sometime spend hours repairing these lines Today's group had to wait for new parts. Meantime, residents tried to cope as the sun beat down.
Mary Connole, Lost Power: "It's like, get in the car and start using your car a/c I guess."
Crews stayed until two this afternoon to fix the outage. When it was all said and done, residents spent eight hours with no power in triple-digit temperatures.
