(KSL News) -- North Salt Lake Mayor Kay Briggs is leaving his post to move to the Dominican Republic.
Briggs announced he will resign before the end of the year.
He works for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a managing director for temporal affairs. He will be transferring to the Dominican Republic, where he will oversee day-to-day business operations.
Briggs is seven months into his second term as mayor.
