LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Las Vegas Paiute Tribe is planning to open two medical marijuana dispensaries as well as a cultivation and production facility by the end of the year. Las Vegas Paiute Council Chairman Benny Tso says the tribe has partnered with an Arizona medical marijuana company to develop and manage the business.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a man who was shot by a Las Vegas patrol officer responding to a report of a person with a gun in a residential area is expected to recover from his wound. KLAS-TV reports the wounded man was shot in the shoulder, and that his gun turned out to be a replica.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 26-year-old North Las Vegas man who was accused of abducting and raping teenage girls has agreed to plead guilty to sex assault charges that'll get him at least 35 years in state prison. Jimmy Carter Kim waived a preliminary hearing today and avoided public testimony from his young victims by accepting a last-minute plea deal.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — A defense lawyer says a 22-year-old Nevada man will seek to be freed from jail and may argue self-defense in the shooting death of his father during a confrontation in January at the family home in Henderson. Daron Clanton is being held on $1 million bail at the Clark County jail pending a preliminary hearing.
