SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Gov. Gary Herbert isn't ready to endorse a presidential candidate but the Republican says billionaire Donald Trump is a "wild card" among the GOP field.

Herbert told reporters on Wednesday that he doesn't understand how Trump can remain popular despite saying "anything that comes to his mind with no filter" that would cause other politicians to lose support.

Herbert says he's concerned that Democrats are choosing between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, a democratic socialist.

Herbert says he's surprised that "an avowed socialist" is neck and neck with Clinton.
