Police: 5-year-old called to report parents shot; both dead

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old boy called police in Chattanooga to report that his parents had been shot, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chattanooga Police Department said in a statement that the boy called 911 at 10:32 p.m. Sunday. Police says officers found 24-year-old George Dillard and 25-year-old Lakita Hicks, who were both were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the child was unharmed.

Police say investigators are trying to determine what happened and urged anyone with information about the shooting to call the agency. The police statement calls the incident a double homicide but gives no further details on any possible motive or suspects.
