RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe is ready for his close-up.

The Democratic governor donned a Revolutionary War-era wig and garb on Monday to shoot a scene in the AMC television series "TURN: Washington's Spies." McAuliffe plays Gen. Robert Lawson and has one line in the episode that's scheduled to air June 6.

McAuliffe, who got through his takes without flubbing his line, joked that he should be called "one-take Terry."

The Richmond Times Dispatch (bit.ly/1RJiPEs) quotes "TURN" producers as saying that they gave McAuliffe a cameo role to thank him for the support he has shown the series.

The AMC drama is shooting its third season in Richmond and other central Virginia locations. It returns to the air April 25.

McAuliffe has appeared in several films over the years, including "The Adjustment Bureau," starring Matt Damon.
