FILER, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian hit and run that happened Saturday morning in Filer. KTVB-TV reports an unknown vehicle was driving west on U.S. Highway 30 when it struck 78-year-old Ronald Miller. He died at the scene. State police request help from the public if they have information about the crash.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers have signed forward Jeff Ayres to a 10-day contract. He has been playing for the Idaho Stampede of the NBA's D-League, averaging 16.3 points and 9.5 rebounds in 23 games. The Clippers announced the deal Saturday. They are in the midst of a five-game road trip and next play at Toronto on Sunday.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Full beer growlers could be considered open containers under Idaho law, and state police are asking the Legislature to make a change. State police want a law that would require official tape on every cap when beer is sold in the reusable jugs. The agency estimates the seals would cost about 10 cents per container.

EMMETT, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho company that bought the Emmett sawmill plans to reopen the troubled facility. KTVB-TV reports Gem Forest Products sold the facility to Woodgrain Millwork, which is based in Fruitland. The company plans to spend the next few months processing inventory and renovating. A news release says employees will have the facility running in February.
