STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Carson Puriefoy scored 20 points and Stony Brook closed on a 7-0 run to beat Albany 69-63 on Friday night for the Seawolves' 11th straight victory.

The winning streak is a Division-I program record for Stony Brook (15-4, 6-0 America East), which is off to its best 19-game start in D-I history.

Jameel Warney hit two free throws with 42.5 seconds left for a 64-63 lead. After an Albany miss, Ahmad Walker came up empty from the stripe, but Rayshaun McGrew grabbed the offensive rebound and converted a 3-point play for a four-point lead with 21.9 seconds left.

Peter Hooley tried to get his defender in the air on a 3-point attempt and his forced shot did not hit the rim. Puriefoy sealed it at the line.

Warney added 17 points and McGrew and Walker recorded double-doubles for the Seawolves.

Ray Sanders and Evan Singletary led Albany (15-6, 4-2) with 14 points apiece.
