PLEASANT GROVE — A Pleasant Grove man accused of both manufacturing and distributing his own child pornography could potentially face more than 100 criminal charges.

David Gene Knoche, 31, is accused of taking nude pictures of at least three young boys and then trading them around the country, including overseas, for other images of child pornography.

"He admitted to taking pictures of an 8-year-old boy and a 2-year-old who were children of an acquaintance of his," said Pleasant Grove Police Capt. Matt Roberts.

A third boy, 4, is related to Knoche, he said. All three boys were also molested, according to Roberts. Detectives were investigating Friday whether there are additional victims.

Police were alerted to Knoche by authorities in England who were conducting their own child pornography investigation. One of their cases included an IP address that was traced to Utah, Roberts said. They learned someone from Pleasant Grove was exchanging child pornography with someone in England, he said.

Knoche was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of 250 counts of distributing, manufacturing or possessing child pornography, and six counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child. Roberts said formal charges are expected to be filed next week.
