WEST VALLEY CITY — A man was found dead in a canal in West Valley City on Sunday morning, according to police.

A fisherman discovered the body of an adult male at about 7:40 a.m. in a canal near 5300 West and 2500 South, according to West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku. Police officers and firefighters responded and removed the man's body from the canal.

Police turned the body over to the medical examiner, but Vainuku said an initial investigation didn't reveal any signs of foul play.
