LAS VEGAS (AP) — Weapon enthusiasts and manufacturers at a big industry trade show in Las Vegas have their sights set on the newest guns and gear, not on President Barack Obama's efforts to tighten gun regulations following mass shootings around the country. SilencerCo chief executive Josh Waldron says America is a gun culture, and all the president is doing is helping the industry sell more weapons than ever. An official with the National Shooting Sports Foundation says gun production and sales have doubled since 2007 when Obama took office.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — State auditors say Las Vegas-area cabs are overcharging customers to the tune of $47 million a year. Auditors in the governor's finance office say the $3 credit card processing fee the authority allows is excessive and should be no more than 90 cents. The audit recommends abolishing the taxicab authority, which regulates only Clark County cabs.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Carson City judge says a proposed ballot measure to gradually raise Nevada's minimum wage to $13 can move forward. The judge sided with minimum wage hike supporters and ruled the petition language doesn't need to be changed. Opponents included Las Vegas and Reno-Sparks chambers of commerce, who sought to disqualify the petition on technical points. Opposition lawyers said they're not sure whether they'll appeal.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Prosecutors have upgraded the criminal case against a 24-year-old woman accused of intentionally plowing a car into a crowd of pedestrians on a Las Vegas Strip sidewalk. Prosecutors filed 71 felony charges against Lakeisha Nicole Holloway, and a judge set a Feb. 4 court date. Holloway's attorney says she plans to plead not guilty.
