(KSL News) A routine traffic stop turned into a major drug bust.

On July 13, Utah Highway Patrol troopers stopped the driver of a 2002 Pontiac Aztek for failing to signal a lane change. It happened on State Road 191 in Monticello.

The driver let the troopers search his car. They found a compartment in the rear luggage area containing 33 packages of marijuana.

Twenty-two-year-old Erik Verduzco Lopez was arrested. A 16-year-old female passenger was sent to a youth home in Blanding.
