NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) — Junior forward Jordan Washington has been suspended two games by Iona College for his slapping a Monmouth player in the scuffle that broke out after Friday night's game.

The 6-foot-8 Washington was clearly seen on tape slapping Monmouth's Chris Brady after the Hawks' 110-102 victory at Iona. Something happened during the handshake line and suddenly there was pushing and shoving between the teams during which Washington reached out and made contact with Brady's face.

Washington, second on the team in scoring (15.8) and rebounding (6.1), will miss Sunday's game at Rider and Friday night's home game with Saint Peter's.

The teams play again Feb. 19 at Monmouth.
