DOVER, Del. (AP) — A Delaware man has been charged with his fourth DUI after multiple people reported him sleeping inside his vehicle at a gas pump.
Delaware State Police Sgt. Richard Bratz says troopers responded Sunday morning to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a Wawa convenience store in south Dover. Witnesses said people had been sleeping inside the vehicle for hours.
Bratz says police woke up 31-year-old Jacob McGuckin and 28-year-old Rachel Haslett at the gas pump. He says both showed signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol and a search revealed drug paraphernalia and crystal meth.
McGuckin was charged with his fourth offense of driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia. Haslett was charged with possessing or consuming a prescription drug not a controlled substance without prescription.
