Missing girls found in Pleasant Grove

Two girls missing since 2014 were found Sunday morning in Pleasant Grove. Their mother was booked into jail, according to the Orem Police Department.

Danielle and Sydney Wolferts disappeared in Orem in May, 2014.

Anonymous donor pays $25K to cover rent for entire apartment complex

An anonymous donor paid the rent for every tenant of an affordable housing complex in Newpark. The Park Record reports that the residents were notified shortly before Christmas that rent for January would be covered.

Just days before Christmas, residents of the 38-unit Newpark Studios were notified that their January rent had been paid. Monthly rent for the entire affordable housing community is about $25,000 or $527- $709 per unit. Most of the tenants are service industry workers and young adults.

Mountain lion shot after attacking 2 family dogs, killing 1

Susan Lee Strauss has lived in Summit Park for a decade and is used to seeing moose, deer, raccoons and porcupines.

She'd never seen a mountain lion, however, until one crept into her back yard in the middle of the night and went after her two dogs.

U. shuttle bus driver dies in campus crash

The driver of a University of Utah shuttle bus was killed in a crash Saturday morning.

Officials believe James Lamb, 72, experienced some kind of medical condition and crashed into a wall near Fort Douglas and Research Park. Lamb was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, said University of Utah spokeswoman Maria O'Mara.

Freak roller skating accident leaves Delta girl fighting for life

Six-year-old Tayton Timothy has been in a medically induced coma ever since a freak accident occurred while she was roller skating last weekend.

But the family got good news on Saturday, and new hope came with it.

"It's been very tough. It's been very hard. But she's doing good and that's all I care about," said Sammi Timothy, Tayton's mom. She said no one witnessed the Dec. 26 accident, in which an adult skater who had been skating backward while helping another skater bumped into Tayton and then landed on top of her on the ground.
