COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Courtney Walker scored 20 points and No. 16 Texas A&M topped Georgia 73-62 in an SEC opener on Sunday.

Walker was 5 of 12 from the floor and 10 of 12 from the line. She added five rebounds, three assists and a steal. The Aggies (11-3) shot over 45 percent and made 28 of 34 (82 percent) free-throw attempts. Texas A&M won the rebound battle 40-33 and blocked seven shots.

Georgia (12-2) was led by Shacobia Barbee with 17 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Tiaria Griffin added 14 points. The Lady Bulldogs made just 4 of 18 from beyond the arc.

Both teams started slowly, and Georgia led 13-11 after the first quarter. Texas A&M made its first five shots of the second quarter — including 3-pointers by Danni Williams and Jordan Jones — and led 33-26 at the break.

The Aggies stretched the lead to 51-34 near the end of the third after a 10-0 run, with eight points coming at the line.
