McGlynn with 33 points, Rhode Island beats Brown 88-85 in OT

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Four McGlynn scored a career-high 33 points with six coming in the final 43 seconds of overtime to help Rhode Island beat Brown 88-85 on Wednesday night.

McGlynn made a jumper and Andre Berry a free throw to stretch the Rams' lead to 84-81 with 29 seconds left in overtime. Steven Spieth made two free throws to pull Brown to 84-83. McGlynn made four free throws and Rhode Island (8-5) led 88-85 with 3.7 seconds left. Travis Fuller's deep 3-point attempt hit the backboard to end it.

Brown's Tavon Blackmon made a pair of free throws to tie it at 74-all with 49 seconds left in regulation. The Rams' Jarvis Garrett drove to the basket and passed to Nicola Akele, but Jason Massey blocked Akele's layup attempt at the buzzer to force overtime.

Cedric Kuakumensah scored 21 points to lead Brown (4-8). Spieth added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
