BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bruins have placed center David Krejci on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.

The team announced the move Tuesday. Krejci was hurt Sunday in Boston's 3-1 loss at Ottawa in the opener of a home-and-home series. He must sit out for at least seven days from the time he was injured, meaning Krejci will miss the Winter Classic on New Year's Day against Montreal.

Krejci has 11 goals and 22 assists in 35 games for the Bruins this season.

Boston recalled defenseman Seth Griffith from Providence of the AHL.
