FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Many of the country's most prominent national parks, including Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Zion, set new visitation records in 2015. Through November, Zion in Utah had 3.5 million visitors. Officials say the records could be short-lived as the National Park Service celebrates its centennial in 2016.

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Firefighters say an electronic cigarette exploded, causing a house fire in Ogden on Christmas morning. The Standard-Examiner reports that a couple and their three children escaped the fire unhurt. Damage was estimated at more than $100,000.

LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Police say they've arrested two women and a man they believe stole more than $5,200 worth of baby formula from northern Utah stores. Logan Police say the three were arrested Monday and are being held in the Cache County jail on suspicion of theft and other charges.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Highway Patrol says there was a 13 percent increase in the number of people using their smart phones while driving between May and October over the same period last year. Utah law was expanded in May 2014 to ban any kind of phone manipulation behind the wheel except for talking or getting directions.
