MADRID (AP) — Barcelona says one of its youth teams fired a player eight hours after signing him because the club discovered he posted "offensive tweets" on his Twitter account.
The club says it "has decided to terminate the contract signed" with Sergi Guardiola, who had joined Barca B on Monday, "after confirming that he had posted offensive tweets against Barcelona and Catalonia."
Two years ago, the 24-year-old forward had posted comments hostile to Catalonia and also showing his support for Real Madrid.
Guardiola could not be reached for comment.
