LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a husband is dead and his wife is facing a murder charge after a Christmas Eve shooting ended in fatal gunfire in a room at a downtown Las Vegas casino hotel.
Officer Michael Rodriguez said Friday that 34-year old Maria Escalante was arrested after police were called a little before 10:15 p.m. Thursday to the Plaza Hotel and Casino.
Police say Escalante's husband was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Clark County coroner didn't immediately release his name.
Jail records show that Escalante is being held without bail pending an initial court appearance on murder and child abuse and endangerment charges.
It wasn't immediately clear if she had a lawyer.
