SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities in eastern Utah say they believe they've found the remains of a man missing since he was suspected in the 2010 shooting of a state park ranger, which touched off a five-day desert manhunt. The Grand County Sheriff's Office says that skeletal remains are believed to be that of Lance Leeroy Arellano. Authorities say the remains will be sent to the state medical examiner to be identified.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Federal labor lawyers say a Utah contractor regularly used children from a polygamous group as unpaid workers on a southern Utah pecan farm, refuting the company's contention that the kids picked up leftover nuts with their families. The U.S. Labor Department attorneys say in new court documents that children harvested nuts for years. The agency wants a judge to order the payment of back wages.

ST GEORGE, Utah (AP) — A 20-year-old southern Utah man has died after crashing a modified child's tricycle on a steep trail. Zachary Lusk was riding the tricycle in Washington City when he picked up too much speed and went headfirst into a pile of rocks. Authorities say riding modified trikes has become trendy among young people, but the contraptions don't have a braking system.

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — It's a little too big to fit under a tree, but a southern Utah fire department is still thankful for their Christmas gift -- a used ambulance. The St. George Spectrum reports that the Dixie Region Medical Center donated the 1995 Ford ambulance to the Santa Clara Fire Department, which had applied for a chance to receive the vehicle from the medical center's community benefit department.
