KAILUA, Hawaii (AP) — The latest on President Barack Obama's annual two-week vacation in Hawaii (all times local):

7 p.m.

On Wednesday, after an early morning workout at the gym, President Barack Obama spent a sunny afternoon playing golf with friends in Kapolei on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.

This is the third time Obama hit the links since beginning his annual two-week holiday vacation with his family in Hawaii.

Golf enthusiasts at the Kapolei Golf Club looked happy to see Obama on the west side of the island.

Golfer Travis Lin said he was excited to see President Obama for the first time and exchanged greetings with him. "I said, 'Hello Mr. President.' And he told us, 'Merry Christmas' and he waved at us."

Obama's motorcade arrived at the golf club at noon and departed at 5:54 p.m. as the sun was setting and an almost full moon rose in the sky. (Full moon in Hawaii will officially take place on Christmas Day.)

The motorcade returned to the Obamas' rental home in Kailua around 6:35 p.m. The Obamas will be spending the rest of the evening in the home.

President Barack Obama's motorcade left Kailua and headed west over the misty Koolau mountain range to Oahu's Kapolei Golf Course. The White House says the president is playing golf with friends Greg Orme, Darrell Harrington and Bobby Titcomb.

Earlier Wednesday, Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and their wives released matching lists of their favorite holiday songs on the popular music streaming service Spotify. Topping the list for Obama and his wife, Michelle, is the instrumental version of "O Tannenbaum" by the Vince Guaraldi Trio featured in "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

President Barack Obama is back at his Kailua vacation home after a morning trip to Marine Corps Base Hawaii for a workout at the gym. It's a mostly sunny morning with temperatures in the upper 70s on the windward coast of Oahu, where the president is vacationing with his family.

On the way to and from the Marine base, people stopped and watched as watch the motorcade whizzed past.
