EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — D.J. Balentine, Jaylon Brown and Egidijus Mockevicius scored 19 points apiece on Tuesday night and Evansville beat Alabama A&M 91-70.
Mockevicius had 13 points and grabbed 14 of his 18 rebounds in the first half while the Purple Aces (11-2) were 17 of 27 from the field to build a 47-27 lead at the break.
Brown had 11 of his career-best 19 points in the second while Evansville shot even better (17 of 24) to protect its lead. The Aces finished 66.7 percent for the game.
Ladarius Tabb had 30 points and seven rebounds to lead Alabama A&M (4-4), and Nicholas West added 19 points. Those two attempted 39 of the Bulldogs' 64 shots.
Mockevicius entered the game third in the nation in rebounding and improved his average to 13.8 to move to the top spot ahead of Ben Simmons (LSU) and Chris Horton (Austin Peay).
