LAS VEGAS (AP) — Prosecutors in Las Vegas say they're considering "a great number" of additional charges to be filed against the woman accused of driving her car into pedestrians on the Las Vegas Strip, killing one person and injuring nearly three dozen others. The Oregon woman was charged today with murder and other counts, including child abuse. Her toddler was in the car at the time.

SEATTLE (AP) — A judge in Washington state has upheld Seattle's so-called gun violence tax. It had been challenged by the National Rifle Association and other gun rights groups. The tax ads $25 to the price of each firearm sold in the city, plus 2 or 5 cents per round of ammunition, depending on the type. Officials expect it to generate up to $500,000 a year to help offset the costs of gun violence.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — A New Zealand judge has ruled that colorful Internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom and three of his colleagues can be extradited to the United States to face criminal copyright charges. Dotcom's lawyers plan to appeal the decision. The government shut down Dotcom's Megaupload website, which some visitors had used to illegally download songs and movies.

NEW YORK (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a Bahamian man being held in New York hacked into celebrities' email accounts to steal unreleased movie and TV scripts and private sex tapes he sought to peddle. Alonzo Knowles is being held without bail. Though none of the victims were identified, a prosecutor told a judge that several agents contacted by authorities were "quite traumatized" by the theft of the personal information.

GRETNA, La. (AP) — Zatarain's is voluntarily recalling its 8 ounce boxes of Red Beans and Rice Original because the product may contain undeclared dairy ingredients that could prompt serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. The Louisiana-based company says the product may contain Creamy Parmesan Rice Mix with dairy ingredients. The dairy allergens are not listed.
