SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah will continue sending money to the state Planned Parenthood chapter though the end of 2015 despite a judge's ruling today allowing it to temporarily block the funds. The Utah Department of Health says contracts for sex education and sexually transmitted disease testing programs will run through Dec. 31.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say a ski patrol employee was caught in an avalanche and partially buried at Snowbasin ski resort. Authorities say that Mike Erickson was doing avalanche control work when another avalanche broke off above him this morning. He was taken to a hospital with injuries, but he deployed a protective air bag that protected him from more serious harm.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Firefighters were able to save a 3-year-old girl and her dog when an early-morning fire damaged the family's Salt Lake City home. Two adults and a 6-year-old girl were already outside when firefighters arrived. The 3-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — Police say five teens from Colorado are in custody after a 14-year-old driver started a high-speed chase on Interstate 15 through southern Utah. The Utah Highway Patrol says the chase reached speeds of almost 120 mph Sunday evening. Troopers say the car was stolen and they found a stolen gun inside.
