Ford leads Northeastern over Vermont 77-65

BOSTON (AP) — Quincy Ford made a career-high seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points to lead Northeastern over Vermont 77-65 on Tuesday.

Ford was 8 of 18 from the field, including 7 of 12 from the arc. The Huskies made 13 of 28 3-point attempts for 46 percent. Caleb Donnelly sank a career-high 5 of 7 3-point attempts for 15 points. Zach Stahl 14 points and David Walker 11 for Northeastern (8-4).

Ernie Duncan made 5 of 10 3-point attempts in scoring a career-high 19 points to lead the Catamounts (6-7). Trae Bell-Haynes added 16 points, Cam Ward 12 and Drew Urquhart 10.

Vermont led for the last time, 51-50, with 11:47 to go. The Huskies went on a 19-4 run sparked by three treys from Duncan and two by Donnelly for a 69-55 advantage with 4:51 left. Vermont was 10 down before Northeastern converted six free throws in the final 1:30.
