PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Isaiah Miles and DeAndre' Bembry scored 16 points each and Saint Joseph's defeated Illinois State 79-65 on Saturday for its fourth straight win.

Bembry, who had nine rebounds and seven assists, made four 3-pointers and Miles three for the Hawks (8-2), who hit a season-best 15 3-pointers on 33 attempts for 45.5 percent. Shavar Newkirk also made three 3-pointers and scored 13 points. James Demery added 12 points and Aaron Brown 11.

The Redbirds (5-7) made just 6 of 26 3-point tries. Mikyle McIntosh had a trio of 3-pointers and 16 points. DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell added 12 points, Paris Lee 11 and Deontae Hawkins 10.

St. Joseph's outscored Illinois State 24-6, with Bembry making three 3-pointers and Newkirk two, over the final 7:12 of the first half to lead 45-26 at the break.

The Hawks led by 32 before the Redhawks closed the gap over the final 7:20 of the game.
