NEW YORK (AP) — Aurimas Majauskas scored 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, Torry Butler grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds, and Sam Houston State rallied with a big second-half run to beat LIU Brooklyn 74-69 on Friday night.

Jamal Williams scored 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, Jovante' Spivey added 12 points, and the Bearkats (5-5) made 28 of 38 free throws (74 percent) but shot just 36 percent from the field.

Trailing 32-28 at halftime, Sam Houston broke the game open with a 16-0 run in which Majauskas scored nine points and the Bearkats led 66-50 with 7:44 left. The Blackbirds gained on a 13-0 run and pulled within 67-64 on Aakim Saintil's free throw with 1:29 left, but the Bearkats kept them at arm's length down the stretch.

Saintil and Joel Hernandez scored 16 apiece for the Blackbirds (5-4), who shot 42 percent from the field but were outrebounded 43-37. Jerome Frink added 14 points.
