It's not a secret anymore; the winter wonderland we know as Park City is renowned worldwide. With its old-world charm and new-world convenience, out-of-state visitors and Utahns alike flock to find refuge and excitement on its mountains.

While many come for the resorts and the fresh powder, you don't need skis or a snowboard to experience the wealth of activities Park City has to offer.

Here are five ways to experience Park City like you never have before.

1. Stay more than a day

To experience the charm of this quaint community, you need at least a couple of days there. But instead of booking congested hotels, stay where it feels like home. Places like Wyndham Vacation Rentals offer condos, townhomes and private homes all throughout the Park City area.

With every rental comes a full staff. It's home away from home without needing to clean up after anyone! And, it's a place to come back to after a long day of activities and fun.

2. Other winter activities (besides skiing and snowboarding)

Winter fly-fishing, snowmobiling and hot air ballooning, oh my! There are so many activities that don't require a sore body at the end of the day. Several places in Park City also offer sleigh rides. Sit back, relax and listen to those sleigh bells ringing.

3. Watch other people ski

Before players make it to the Olympic games, they need an arena to prove they're ready. That arena is the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup event. While you may never ski to the caliber of these professionals, you're definitely free (pun intended) to watch them. 2016 marks Deer Valley's 17th year hosting the competitions.

All events are free to the public.

4. Explore Park City's history

Before Park City was a haven for winter sports, it was a mining town. In 1868, U.S. soldiers stationed in Salt Lake City climbed in from Big Cottonwood Canyon and found silver, gold and lead, sparking a boom as prospectors flooded in.

Join walking tours around historic Main Street and guided tours of the Park City Museum.

5. Jam to music or paint a picture

Besides the Sundance Film Festival, what else is there to do? Everything. Art galleries line Main Street, concerts fill the air and exhibits expand your mind. Almost anything you can think of in the realm of arts and entertainment, Park City has it.

When it comes to Park City, the beauty never ends and the fun is inexhaustible. When it comes to finding a home away from home to stay at, the best place is a vacation rental. Come and discover what Park City has for you.
