A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY — If you haven't heard by now, Star Wars: Episode VII has landed in theaters, and it is virtually impossible to avoid it — even in the sports world.
Here's a look at some of the best moments from opening night with sporting ties — and we promise, no spoilers.
Everyone's getting into Star Wars ... right?
Oakland A's closer Sean Doolittle doesn't look like the typical "Star Wars nerd," as the old jock club in high school would call them.
But his girlfriend might put him in that bracket.
The Bay Area baseball player has been excited to for the latest installment of the franchise for weeks, according to his Twitter feed — and he even brought his girlfriend Eireann Dolan in on the fun.
She was … less than amused.
"I bought you a new outfit," he said. "We're going out tonight," he said. "Go try it on," he said. This is garbage. pic.twitter.com/Dj3pEFhf9Q — Aldeireaan Dolan (@EireannDolan) December 17, 2015
She wasn't the only one in costume, though.
Attn. @mlb: please start the season again. My BF has too much time on his hands. pic.twitter.com/buiKHAwKuc — Aldeireaan Dolan (@EireannDolan) December 17, 2015
In the end, though, it looks like they had a good time.
Can't wait to see In the Heart of the Sea tonight!!! pic.twitter.com/bsOgjWv7bL — Aldeireaan Dolan (@EireannDolan) December 18, 2015
Jim Harbaugh misses Darth Vader ===============================
New Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh went to opening night of Episode VII, but he seemed to miss a pretty vital plot point of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
Can't wait 4 #StarWars to start w/ James & @JayHarbaugh! Wish my guy @darthvader was in it, but he had a good run! pic.twitter.com/7IMJNLpLu9 — Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) December 18, 2015
He wasn't the only one, though.
@CoachJim4UM@JayHarbaugh@darthvader what??????!!!!! No Vader???!!!! Dang what is the world coming to! He coulda had a cameo at least!!!!! — Jim Walker (@jimwalker_usa) December 18, 2015
But there was another #SadMichiganFan in his mentions.

Jay Glazer live tweets Star Wars ... fire alarm ===============================================
If you have a Facebook friend who insists on ruining the latest installment originally created by (but mercifully sold away from) George Lucas, it's time to find new Facebook friends. Ditto for Twitter followers who insist on posting spoiled content online.
Fox NFL analyst Jay Glazer went to see the movie, and at first glance, he seemed to be spoiling the film for his 885,000 Twitter followers.
In turns out, Glazer was just reporting breaking news — that his theater was evacuated after someone pulled a fire alarm.
So what's a member of the press to do when a night out becomes potential breaking news? Live tweet it, of course.
So at the Grove watching Star Wars anddddd our theatre was just evacuated. — Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) December 18, 2015
> Back in theater, they were nice enough to rewind movie, wait for us get back in our seats b4 restarting. Weird night, world we live in now > > — Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) [December 18, 2015](https://twitter.com/JayGlazer/status/677711211509751808)
> We had a false alarm of restarting the movie that was stopped because of the false alarm at the movies [\#stfuglazer](https://twitter.com/hashtag/stfuglazer?src=hash) > > — Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) [December 18, 2015](https://twitter.com/JayGlazer/status/677712403623227392)
You can read the rest of [Glazer's tweets on his feed, @JayGlazer](https://twitter.com/JayGlazer?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) — along with breaking news on NFL injury updates, like whether Boba Fett's "minor injury" will keep him out of the Patriots' long-term plans, or if Luke Skywalker's blowup with management will affect his value on the free-agent market.
Enjoy your post-Star Wars premiere day, everyone. And remember — some of us still have to work today.
