NORTH OGDEN — A Brigham City woman died Thursday after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street.
The 45-year-old woman was crossing 400 East at 2381 North in North Ogden around 5:40 p.m. when a southbound vehicle in an outside lane struck her, police said.
Emergency responders found the woman unconscious and not breathing. She was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, where she died from her injuries. Her name was not released Thursday, pending notification of family members.
North Ogden police are still investigating the crash, but say the driver is being cooperative and that drugs and alcohol were not involved.
There is no crosswalk where the woman was crossing, and the area is not well-lit, according to police. She was reportedly walking to get to her car at a nearby apartment complex.
The Utah Highway Patrol is helping North Ogden police investigate the incident.
