THE GREAT OUTDOORS — This weekly column highlights user-submitted photos and video of Utahns exploring our beautiful state. Watch for it each Thursday morning to get ideas for your next outdoors adventure.

The record snowstorm on Monday has given many Utahns the needed push (or excuse of "powder fever") to get outdoors. Many residents around the state have visited one of Utah's 14 ski resorts or enjoyed the new snow in Utah's backcountry. Winter can be a magical time in Utah's outdoors, and if you haven't ever tried skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or snowmobiling, this will be a good year to start.

Whether you are into mountain biking, riding ATVs, boating, snowboarding, hiking or hunting, Utah can accommodate your outdoors needs — and we'd love to see photos of you in action.

Send pictures or video of your recent outdoor activities in Utah's backcountry to fjolley@ksl.com. We'd love to highlight your adventures — especially the winter sports this season.
