CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada lawmakers are kicking off a special session in Carson City to consider incentives for electric carmaker Faraday Future. Gov. Brian Sandoval called for the session, which is expected to wrap up today or tomorrow. Lawmakers will consider creating a new category of tax abatements that would authorize $215 million in incentives for the Chinese-backed automaker, which announced last week that it wants to bring a $1 billion plant and 4,500 jobs to North Las Vegas.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A group backed by chambers of commerce in Las Vegas and Reno is suing to stop signature-gathering for a voter initiative to raise Nevada's hourly minimum wage to $13 over the next decade. The Committee to Preserve Nevada Jobs says it wants a state court judge in Carson City to stop a petition aimed at getting the wage hike on the 2016 statewide ballot.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — For the second time in two weeks, prison officials in Nevada say an inmate walked away from a minimum-custody work camp. The Nevada Department of Corrections says 44-year-old Mary Mitchell was reported missing from the Jean Conservation Camp about 30 miles south of Las Vegas. Mitchell was serving a 20-to-50 month sentence for theft and burglary convictions.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — One of Cirque du Soleil's eight Las Vegas shows is closing next year as part of a convention center expansion at the Aria resort and casino. MGM Resorts says the theater occupied by the show Zarkana would be turned into a four-story 200,000 square-foot expansion to Aria's convention center. Construction begins in May and is expected to be finished by February 2018.
