LOS ANGELES (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks guard Greivis Vasquez will be out for at least three months after undergoing surgery on his right ankle.

Coach Jason Kidd announced Vasquez's prognosis after the surgery Tuesday.

Vasquez had surgery in New York to remove a bone spur and loose bodies. Kidd says Vasquez's recovery will last 3-4 months, but the coach hasn't ruled out Vasquez's return during the regular season.

Vasquez is averaging 7.1 points, 4.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 16 games this season. He hasn't played since Nov. 27, and Kidd credited the guard for attempting to play through injury.
